Mr. Xiao Bing was born in 1946 in Liaoning province, North-East China.  He is a student of Mr. Wang Wenfang and Mr. Qin Lingyun. He has strong traditional knowledge and skills, absorbing modern art influences to innovate personal development. He has travelled to the elegant Tianshan Mountain in Xinjing Province, the expansive Mongolian grassland, the supernatural rock forest in Gansu Province, and the far-reaching Silk Road.  There he absorbed the Buddhist interpretation of human civilization and spirit from the wide Loessil Altiplano, the boundless and bleakness of the Gobi, the vastness of impregnable passes and ancient paths, and the peace of the endless flow and setting sun in the West landscape. The broad, powerful and imposing character that signifies his special style has allowed him to develop his own interpretation of traditional painting in North-west China.

The tradition of this style of painting includes square, handsome, complete, graceful, and clean characteristics. These are also the characteristics of his mind and spirit. This way of thinking is derived from the people of the west and is rooted in the land. It seeks life and passion and the expression of culture, society, area and national civilization. This, combined with the artist’s style results in productions where the emphasis is to give a feel of natural quality and taste of life.

In 1985，“New Appearance of Copper City”, showing an unpretentious person in Loessial Altiplano, achieved the Gold award in “Gansu’s jumping” exhibition.
In 1986，the third class award at first employee in China color metal system.
In 1990, he held a personal exhibition in Lanzhou City before the National Holiday, which was a high point to the branch of North-west China and all art schools and colleges, organized to visit it. The consultative committee, the Ganshu Province secretary Mr. Huang Luobin and other leaders in Ganshu Province went to the exhibition and gave a high evaluation of the work.
1994, “Passion of Loessial Ground” was joined the 8th domestic exhibition and got the bronze award.
1994~1997, he was invited to Lianyungang, Suzhou, Yangzhou and Nanjing city to exhibit and partake in cultural exchanges.
In 2000, he was invited to the International Chinese art exhibition at the China Art Gallery and was awarded the silver award.
In 2001, he held a personal exhibition in Baiying city Gansu province.
In 2006, he got the award of the Hukou Exhibition in Sanxi Province.

In 1990，CCTVs 2nd Channel broadcasted the exhibition;
In 1999~2000 Lanzhou TV station, Silver TV and Gansu Satellite TV broadcasted “Black ground • Loessial Passion”, “The Long Loessial Passion” etc..

From 1990 till the present day, his personal achievements have been published in Ganshu People Paper, Ganshu Daily Paper, Ganshu Broadcasting Paper, Jiuzhou Painting Calligrapher Paper and many other publications in Baiying city.

His paintings are displayed in Yangzhou, Baguai Memorial, Kongfu Memorial in Sandong Province, Gansu Library, China art gallery, Traditional Chinese Painter, People’s Pictorial Office, International Pictorial Office, Xiamen Environmental Bureau and internationally recognized painting publications.

“New Song for Grassland”, for example, was the first Chinese traditional painting exhibition of Traditional Chinese Painters

“Years” was collected in “Panorama of Masterpieces of the Chinese Painters & Calligrapher”   (Chinese Painting Calligraphy Academy, Chinese International Broadcasting Publishing, page 501)
“Silent Spring in Rock Forest” was collected in “Baiying Painting Calligrapher” (Ganshu Culture Publishing, page 1)
“June of Altiplano”, “Years”, “Pastoral of Grassland” a total five Paintings were collected in “Painting Calligrapher Edge” for ten years celebration.   (Ganshu People Art Publishing)
“Spring in the deep Stone forest” and other painting were collected in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th period of “China multi-ply Industry.

The paintings are on the China Art Association website, the Chinese Painting Calligrapher website and so on; also, the artist’s introduction has been collected in publications such as “The World artist list” (World Culture Art Publishing), “Talent data on 21st Century”（China Esperanto Publishing Page 1435）, “China Artist Dictionary on Present age” （China Peaceful Publishing page 838）etc. and famous international reference publications.

Mr. Huang Luobing of the consultative committee, Ganshu Province secretary and other leaders in Ganshu Province collects his paintings.  They are also owned by Japanese, Singaporean, Brazilian, England and Asia collectors.
